What noise levels occur during an MRI scan?
The noise generated by the MRI device often causes discomfort and anxiety, which may negatively affect the quality of the scan (as the patient must remain still for a certain period of time). The highest recorded noise levels during MRI operation are 123 dB and 138 dB for 1.5-T and 3-T devices, respectively. The noise spectrum shows a peak at around 1 kHz*, and at this frequency, the EciPeci noise-canceling headphones for resonance reduce sound levels by an average of 34.6 dB.

How are EciPeci® noise-canceling headphones for MRI different from other hearing protectors?

Our EciPeci® MRI headphones do not contain metal parts – they are completely safe for use during an MRI scan (even for brain MRIs). The earmuffs do not have a headband, which makes them comfortable to wear while lying down – they fit within the MRI scan area. The adjustable EciPeci® headband ensures an even distribution of pressure around the head, making them very comfortable for individuals with sound and touch sensitivities (e.g., those on the autism spectrum or with Down syndrome). Like all of our EciPeci® headphones, these MRI headphones have been tested in Polish laboratories, where their noise-canceling effectiveness and the safe composition of their materials have been confirmed.

Earmuffs: ABS material and artificial leather – the entire composition of the earmuffs has been tested in a leading Polish laboratory and meets strict Toy Safety Standards.
